NABHA: The
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday again demanded dismissal of cabinet minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, who was embroiled in the post matric scholarship scheme scam.
Led by deputy leader of the opposition Bibi Sarabjit Kaur Manunke, party workers and supporters staged a dharna and announced that the AAP would continue its stand till the corrupt minister was sacked and a case was registered against him.
Addressing the dharna, Bibi Sarabjit Kaur Manunke accused the chief minister Amarinder Singh of overstepping all moral and administrative boundaries to save his corrupt minister (Dharamsot) who was directly involved in the Dalit student scholarship scheme of Rs 63.91 crore.
Commenting on the handing over of departmental probe into the scholarship scam by the Union government, Manunke said that the probe should be carried out under the supervision of a sitting High court judge and its scope should include all wrongdoings committed during the previous government also 2012-13.
She said along with Dharamsot, the tenure of the Badals should also be investigated.
She said Dharamsot had ruined the future of millions of meritorious Dalit students. In view of the seriousness of the documentary evidence submitted by the additional chief secretary to the government against Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot for embezzling Rs. 63.91 crore directly from Dalit students' scholarships, a criminal case should have been registered by dismissing him from the cabinet.
Instead the chief minister is trying to go all out to get Dharamsot 'a clean chit', she said.
The AAP leader said AAP would continue its fight till the Congress dismissed Dharamsot and filed a criminal case against him.
